England were all out for 240 in their second innings, setting Bangladesh a target of 286 to win the opening Test on the fourth day at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday.
The visitors batted for about 20 minutes in the morning, adding 12 runs to their overnight total of 228 for nine before they were bundled out.
All rounder Shakib Al Hasan finished with five wickets for 85 runs.
