Neymar will not be available for Barcelona’s LaLiga match against Deportivo La Coruna following his Champions League heroics in midweek.
The Brazil international suffered an injury in Wednesday’s remarkable Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain after scoring two goals in the final seven minutes of the 6-1 win that brought a 6-5 aggregate victory.
The Barca players were given Friday off by coach Luis Enrique, but Neymar was unable to take part when they returned to training on Saturday and the decision has been taken not to risk him against Depor.
His fellow Selecao star, midfielder Rafinha, is also out of selection contention due to gastroenteritis.
The two Brazilians join Aleix Vidal and Jeremy Mathieu on the sidelines, with Luis Enrique calling up Barca B’s Carles Alena to complete his 18-man squad.
Barca go into the game one point clear at the top of the table ahead of Real Madrid, who are at home to Real Betis later in the day and also hold a game in hand on Luis Enrique’s title holders.
And Luis Enrique has called on them to keep their focus after the euphoria of Wendesday night’s extraordinary result.
