Bangladesh cricketers will get back to business with the national fitness camp which is set to get underway in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday. The 29-man preliminary squad, announced last month for the two-match Test series at home against Australia and the tour of South Africa will be part of the camp, albeit some members will be missing.
Opener Tamim Iqbal will miss the camp due to his participation in the NatWest T20 Blast for Essex Eagles.

Pacer Rubel Hossain is still recovering from a bizarre jaw injury that he incurred during the tour of England last month. Rubel underwent surgery on June 21 and was ruled out from action for at least four weeks.
Wicketkeeper-batsmen Anamul Haque and Liton Das are currently touring Australia with the BCB High Performance Unit and will return on Sunday.
Despite the ongoing pay dispute between Cricket Australia and its cricketers, the BCB expects the two Tests to take place as per schedule. Maintaining the timeline, the BCB is likely to name a 14-member squad early next month.

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is currently in Australia and will be unavailable during the fitness camp. The former Sri Lanka cricketer is scheduled to return to Dhaka on July 28.
CA had given out a 13-man squad on June 16. The Aussies are scheduled to reach Dhaka on August 18. The visiting side will first play a two-day warm-up game in Fatullah’s Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium from August 22-23 before taking on the home side in the first Test in Mirpur, set to start from August 27. For the second Test, the two teams will travel to Chittagong. The five-dayer begins on September 4 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
