Pakistan’s former T20 skipper Shahid Afridi and spinner Saeed Ajmal are finally getting a much deserved farewell from the national team for their services to the game as well as the country.
Earlier it was known that Afridi might not get the farewell that drew a wide-spread flak among the cricket lovers and supporters of the country.
“I will meet both players next week and we [board] will ensure that the duo is given a glorious farewell,” Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Executive Committee Chairman Najam Sethi said while talking to the local media.
Saeed Ajmal, who last played for Pakistan in 2015, was one of the most skillful off-spinners of his country, considered prodigy of maestro Saqlain Mushtaq, but lost his skills after changing his bowling action.
According to several media reports it was also known that considering the grounds that some of PCB’s top officials were upset with Afridi over his past comments on retirement plans.
