Thai Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon to attend the fourth Joint Trade Committee (JTC) meeting between the two countries, UNB reports.
The Thai Minister arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:10 pm by a Thai Airways flight and will lead the Thai delegation at the minister-level meeting to be held at 2:30 pm at a city hotel, a senior official told UNB on Wednesday.
A MoU on rice trade will be signed between the two sides after the JTC meeting, said the official.
The last JTC meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will host a dinner for his Thai counterpart on Thursday.
The Thai Commerce Minister is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Friday morning.
Before the minister-level meeting, Commerce Secretary Shubhashish Bose and Thai Department of Trade Negotiations Director General Boonyarit Kalayanamit reviewed on Wednesday the decisions taken by the two countries so far.
