Khadiza Begum Nargis, who was hacked by a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Sylhet, has been shifted to cabin from the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Square Hospital in the capital, confirmed her father Masuk Mia on Thursday morning.
He said, “Khadiza was shifted to cabin from HD unit on Wednesday late night. Physicians took the decision as her condition is improving gradually.”
“She (Khadiza) needs treatment for a long time for recovery. Her left arm and leg are still paralysed. She is being given physiotherapy for this,” he added.
He said, “Physicians said that a part of her brain is still damaged. She could not talk despite uttering a few words. She needs much time to recovery from the wounds.”
She, however, can talk normally, he hopes quoting her physicians.
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit of the ruling Awami League-backed student body Chhatra League assistant general secretary Badrul Alam hacked Khadiza on October 3 when she came out of her examination hall at Murari Chand College in Sylhet city.
Khadiza was shifted to the Square hospital on October 4 from Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
