Walton launches two new models of laptop at Dhaka International Trade Fair


The country’s electronics giant Walton launched two new models of laptop, featured with 14-inch High Definition Display, Intel Quad Core processor, 500 GH Hard Disk Drive, 4GB DDR3 L RAM, genuine software of Bangla Bijoy and 2 years warranty facility.

The latest laptops were unveiled at Walton Mega Pavilion at the ongoing Dhaka International Trade Fair-2017 in the capital on Thursday morning.

Along with Walton Pavilion, the new models of laptops are available at all Walton Plazas and the company’s branded outlets across the country. Walton is also offering an android smart phone and a backpack or maximum 10 percent cash discounts to the customers of Walton brand laptops.

The launching ceremony was attended by President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Mostafa Jabber, Walton Group Executive Directors SM Zahid Hasan (Policy, HRM and Admin) and Humayun Kabir (PR & Media), First Senior Additional Director Md Liakat Ali, Media Adviser Enayet Ferdous and other senior officials.

The officials informed that the two new model laptops were added to the existing Passion and Tamarind series of Walton brand laptop. The local company set the prices of the new laptops at Tk 23,990 and Tk 22,990 respectively.

At the event, the local company also extended the warranty period of Walton brand laptops up to 2 years from earlier one year.

The new model laptop of Passion series is featured with 14-inch HDD Display, 500GB HDD, 4GB DDR3L RAM, DVD Multi, 9-in-1 card reader, high definition audio.

The another new model of Tamarind series is featured with  14-inch HDD Display, 500GB HDD, 4GB DDR3L RAM, 9-in-1 card reader, high definition audio.

Speaking at the event, Mostafa Jabber praised Walton for playing a remarkable role in flourishing high-tech industries in Bangladesh.

“During a visit to Walton factory, I noticed that the local company is manufacturing wide ranges of high-tech products like motherboard of LED television. I was also very glad to know that computer motherboards would be manufactured at Walton factory very soon,” he said and hoped that Walton will manufacture all sorts of digital devices across the country in future.

Walton Executive Director SM Zahid Hasan said, “Laptop is now not a luxurious product.

Rather, it turns into an essential instrument for gathering technology based education.”

He hoped that Walton’s such Endeavour will play an important role in building ‘Digital Bangladesh.’

Walton First Senior Additional Director and In-charge of Laptop Project Md Liakat Ali said the new model laptops were launched in the market at cheap rates especially for the pupils. The configurations used in these laptops will help the students in programming, web designing, outsourcing, preparing assignments and presentations and so on.

The launching of cheap rates’ laptops in the local market also fulfilled the long-cherished demands of both the students and their parents for the laptops beyond their buying capacity, he added.

Mentionable, customers can also buy Walton brand laptops at 12-month installment facility on easy conditions.
