Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has said the survey to fix site for constructing Bangabandhu International Airport will be completed within the current month.
The minister came up with the disclosure while addressing the first working session of the second day of three-day Deputy Commissioners’ conference on Wednesday.
Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain and Food Minister M Qamrul Islam were also present in the session.
Initiatives to renovate the existing domestic airports will be taken as early as possible, he said.
Menon asked the deputy commissioners to identify the tourism spots in their respective district aiming to modernise those to attract more visitors.
During the session, the DCs of Bogra and Moulvibazar placed proposals to build airports in the districts.
