BCL activist chopped dead in Khulna


An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was hacked to death at PTI More of the city on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Saikat Hassan Rohan, 25, son of Ruhul Amin Paik of the city.

Rohan was a second-year degree student of Mojid Memorial (MM) City College and an activist of the BCL-college unit. He freed from jail a month back.

Faridul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Khulna Sadar Police Station, said Several unidentified miscreants chopped Rohan when he was waiting at PTI More of the city around 11:00pm on Wednesday, leaving him critically injured.

He rushed to Khulna Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed around 12:00am on Thursday, he added.

He was accused in 10 cases filed with Sadar Police Station. He might be killed over internal infightings, the OC said.
