Seventeen Bangladeshi citizens, who had been trafficked to India were rescued in Benapole while they were entering the country through Daulatpur border point on early Tuesday.
The 17 people, including six women and three children are from Narail and Gopalganj districts.
Daulatpur camp commander of 21 BGB battalion, Nayek Subedar Nurul Islam informed that a BGB team, acting on a tip-off, conducted a drive in the area and rescued the 17 people.
BGB personnel handed over the arrestees over to Benapole police station.
However, the human trafficker fled the scene after sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
