Play begins after rain, Bangladesh 233 for 6


Rain interrupted play during the 3rd session of day-1 in the first Test of Rocket two-match series between Bangladesh and Australia at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

Opting to bat, Bangladesh were 218 for six in 66.4 overs when the heavens opened up at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Nasir Hossain and Mehidy Hasan were on the crease, scoring 11 off 38 balls and 6 run off 22 balls respectively.

Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim has departed after Shakib leaving Bangladesh under pressure during the 3rd session of day-1 in the first Test.

Earlier, the host lost Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes and Sabbir Rahman’s wicket within the four overs of the 1st-day in the first Test.

Tamim Iqbal departed after scoring his 23rd test half centruy.

The Tigers suffered first jolt as opening batsman Soumya Sarkar (8 off 8 balls 2×4) was departed on 10/1 in 1.5 overs when Tamim on 2 runs.

After that, Imrul Kayes and Sabbir Rahman came at crease to pair Tamim, both left with duck facing 7 balls.
