Disguised enemies more active than BNP, Jamaat: Quader

Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that disguised enemies in media and civil society were more active than BNP and Jamaat against the government.
At the concluding discussion of moth-long mourning programme organised by Bangladesh Awami Juba League, at Mahanagar Natyamanch in Dhaka, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said, ‘The disguised enemies in media and the civil society are spreading rumours against the Awami League and the government.’
Without naming anybody, Quader said, ‘You were active to foil the trials of the war criminals and wanted to save them and you tried to establish that Ziaur Rahman declared the war of independence in 1971.’
He said, ‘You tried to make controversial the justified road safety movement of the children. During the movement you told that mass killing occurred during the movement, but actually none was killed during the movement.’
Now it is clear that ‘this heinous quarter’ possess high international network, Quader said.
Referring to BNP leaders’ demand for holding trial of the August 21, 2004 grenade attack on Awami League, Quader said that it was nothing but the cruel mockery ‘as they were involved in the attack.’
He called on the leaders and activists of the Juba League to remain alert against the conspiracies.
Chaired by Juba League president Omar Faroque Chowdhury, the discussion was addressed, among others, by its general secretary Harun-or-Rashid, presidium members Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi and Anwarul Islam.
