BNP protest tomorrow demanding release of Khaleda

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party will form a human chain in Dhaka on March 6 demanding unconditional release and proper treatment of the party chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, who has been in jail since February 8, 2018.
BNP’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at a press conference at the party’s central office in Dhaka.
The programme will begin at 11:00am in front of the National Press Club, he said.
On February 8 last year, Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years in jail in a corruption case.
Rizvi expressed concern over deterioration of ailing Khaleda’s health.
He urged prime minister Sheikh Hasina to put an end to cruel behaviour towards the former prime minister Khaleda.
Rizvi wished quick recovery of Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader from severe illness.
BNP leaders Abdus Salam, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Abdus Salam Azad and Munir Hossain were present.
