Both the bourses of the country– Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — saw negative trends in early hours of trading Thursday, the last trading session of the week.
DSEX, the key index of the prime bourse, shed 19.29 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse also went down by 54.44 points within first one hour of the day’s trading.
After first one hour of trading, the benchmark index DSE went down by 19.29 points or 0.33 percent to stand at 5763.36 when the report was filed at 11:28 am.
The two other indices also saw downward trend till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 5.44 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 1312.17 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed 8.41 points or 0.39 percent to stand at 2112.35 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 2,648.35 million, trading 40,406 shares.
Of the issues traded till then, 86 advanced, 160 declined and 60 issues remained unchanged.
KEYACOSMET dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 237.99 million changing hands till then, followed by BARKAPOWER Tk 178.38 million, BSC Tk 96.11 million, CVOPRL Tk 90.03 million and ACMELAB Tk 87.58 million.
However, the port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)- also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX-shedding 54.44 points to stand at 17843.74 points, also at 11:27 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 56 gained, 100 declined and 24 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 115.04 million.
